A weather warning is in place across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight as Storm Evert is forecast to hit our shores tonight.

The Met Office said the newly named storm will bring “unseasonably strong winds and heavy rain”.

Although the south west is likely to see the worst of the weather, the wet and windy conditions will stretch across most of England and Wales.

A yellow weather warning for wind across southern coastal areas will be in force from 8pm on Thursday until 12pm on Friday.
