A red weather warning for wind for the south has been issued by the Met Office ahead of the arrival of Storm Eunice.

The rare highest alert - meaning a high impact is very likely - runs from 10am until 3pm on Friday.

The Met Office fears the storm will cause "significant disruption and dangerous conditions due to extremely strong winds".

The power is out in parts of Hampshire.

All bin collection services in Southampton will be postponed on Friday.

Bin collections in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are also suspended.

Southampton's Itchen Bridge is closed and the situation will be reviewed at 1pm, Southampton City Council said.
