Southampton man arrested after delivery driver accused of stealing 120 parcels
Police seized large haul of items from a Bassett address
A 24-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of theft by an employee after police were alerted to reports of stolen parcels.
According to investigators, last week a delivery company raised concerns about undelivered packages, prompting initial enquiries by Southampton Police.
Early this morning (18th December), officers attended an address in Bassett and seized a significant number of items. Police have stated these packages were stored in their evidence facilities.
Investigators believe it is unlikely that the parcels will reach their intended destinations before Christmas but have pledged to work throughout the week to track their original recipients.
The man remains in custody as enquiries continue.
