A cannabis factory has been uncovered in Southampton.

Police say a large number of plants were seized in Bond Street in Northam over the weekend.

It's after concerns were raised by the electric company following a power cut to neighbouring properties.

In a statement, Hampshire Police said: "Officers were called on Friday evening (March 31) to what was believed to be a cannabis factory in Bond Street, Southampton.

"Concerns were raised by the electric company after a power cut to surrounding properties.

"A large number of plants was found inside the address. Enquiries into who was responsible for the factory are ongoing."
