Pompey face tough start to Championship return
Their fixtures for the upcoming season have been released
Portsmouth will mark their return to the Championship after 12 years away by travelling to title favourites Leeds United on the opening day.
Pompey booked their place in the second tier for the first time since the 2011/12 by winning the League One title last season.
The fixture list was released on Wednesday morning (June 26th), with Pompey heading to Elland Road on the afternoon of August 10th.
They'll then return to Fratton Park seven days later for another tough match-up against Luton Town, one of three teams relegated from the Premier League.
John Mousinho's Blues won't have to wait long to meet the other two, as they'll face Burnley and Sheffield United on back-to-back weeks in September.
The traditional Boxing Day match will see Pompey travel to Watford, while Swansea will visit Fratton Park on New Year's Day.
Pompey's season will finish on May 3rd with a home match against Hull.
