"Get excited, enjoy the feeling of it.

"It's been a while since these two clubs came together.

"That's what I'm keen to make sure happens and our plans are designed around helping exactly that because we want this to be a safe event for everybody coming."

The police are planning extra measures to keep everyone safe.

These include specialist and experienced teams and more officers deployed to the operation to help with crowd management.

Mr Rowlinson added: "The plans have involved us working really closely with both clubs, Southampton and Portsmouth.

"The decision by the clubs was for there to be managed travel of fans.

"On this occasion, this will be Portsmouth fans getting on a coach from different locations, and they'll be arriving at different times into St. Mary's Football Stadium down in Southampton.

"If you have not got a ticket and you're a Portsmouth fan, you will not be getting on the coach and you will not be able to get into the stadium."
