Detectives say they are still investigating what happened
The family of a former bus driver and his wife who died when their car went off a cliff on the Isle of Wight say they're "devastated and numb from the loss".
Police have now confirmed the names of the two people that died at The Needles on Friday 6 June.
They were Lyn King, aged 66, and John Paul King, aged 67, both from Cowes.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
"We were called at 7.21pm after a Ford Mondeo, which was being driven along Alum Bay New Road, left the road, came off the cliff top and came to rest in the water below. Two dogs, both Dachshund's, were also in the car and died in the incident."
John and Lyn King’s family members have stated: “We are all devastated and numb from the loss, and would respect some privacy at this time”.
Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances and the matter has been passed to the Coroner’s office.
