Police investigating after reported rape in Bournemouth

Police are investigating after a report last night (November 5) that a woman had been raped in a wooded area in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police said they received a report at 9:18pm on Wednesday (November 5) that a man had raped a woman aged in her 30s in a wooded area in the Maxwell Road area of Bournemouth.

Detectives are carrying out a detailed investigation into the report and police say officers are supporting the victim.

A cordon was put in place to allow for an examination of the area to be carried out.

Dorset Police said there would be increased police presence in the area and are urging anyone with information or concerns to speak with an officer.
