Police investigate after woman raped in Bournemouth

A woman in her 50s has been raped by a man known to her in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police were called at 1.13am on Friday 15 September to in Churchill Gardens in Boscombe

Police have taped off an allotment area as part of their investigation.

The victim is being supported by specially-trained officers and a full investigation has been launched by detectives from Bournemouth CID.

Officers say a cordon has been put in place at the scene as enquiries are carried out.

There will also be an increased police presence in the area and officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.
