Police have been investigating a collision in Ryde in which an E-bike with two people on board collided with a pedestrian.

This incident occurred on the evening of 5 January this year on Ryde High Street.

The pedestrian, a 16-year-old girl, sustained injuries but these were not serious. The E-bike did not remain at the scene.

Officers have been conducting a number of enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage of the incident, and have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He has been released from custody but remains under investigation while we conduct further enquiries into this incident.

As part of enquiries, we are keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident, and ask anyone in Ryde town centre – especially the High Street and surrounding roads – with CCTV or doorbell camera footage to please check your footage from between 8pm and 9pm on Sunday 5 January, to see if you have captured an E-motorbike with two people on board, either being ridden or pushed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44250005886.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.
