Police hunt vandals who damaged ambulance in Portsmouth

The group also tried breaking into the building where vehicles are stored

Police are searching for a group of men after an ambulance was damaged by vandals at a resource centre in Portsmouth.

Officers say the group had thrown rocks at the vehicle, which was parked at the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) depot in Northarbour Road in Cosham, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The vehicle had its windscreen smashed and its bonnet dented.

They were called to the scene at around 1.15am after reports the group had accessed the site from nearby railway lines.

They then entered the station site and attempted to gain access to the station building, but were challenged by a SCAS employee and ran away.

Officers attended and an investigation has been launched.

Hampshire Police are looking to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area in the early hours of Tuesday.
