Police cordon in Chichester after reports of assault

A section of Chichester city centre remains closed this morning following reports of an assault.

Police say they were called to the incident which occurred in West Street at around 11pm last night.

They say local people can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as enquiries continue.

Stagecoach have also announced that buses from the Cathedral and South Street will be taking a different route, possibly all day.
