Man arrested after stabbing on Shanklin High Street
A man sustained wounds to his back and arm following the assault
A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Shanklin.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to reports of a serious assault on the High Street just after 6:20pm on Friday.
A man in his 50s sustained what police called "a puncture wound" to his back, and a cut to his arm.
He is being treated in hospital.
A 36-year-old man from Ryde was arrested shortly after on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He currently remains in custody.
