Police are appealing for information after reports of Portsmouth assault

Police are appealing for information following a third party report of an assault in Portsmouth.

A man was seen to be assaulted by two men in the area of Wingfield Street and Turner Road at around 12:45am on Saturday 27th December.

Police say the victim has not yet been identified and they're urging him to make contact with police so they can ensure he's okay and speak with him regarding the incident.

As part of enquiries, two men aged 32 and 37 have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

They have been bailed with conditions whilst the investigation continues.

Police would like to hear from anyone with information about the assault.
