Police appeal to find driver after child hit by car in Swanmore

Police say driver briefly stopped to check on the welfare of the youngster, but then drove off without exchanging details

Police investigating a crash involving a young child in a Hampshire village are appealing to find the driver involved.

The collision, which happened on Church Road in Swanmore at approximately 1pm on Monday (27 May), involved a silver vehicle and a pedestrian.

The driver briefly stopped to check on the welfare of the pedestrian, but then drove off without exchanging details.

The pedestrian – a young child – suffered only minor injuries during the incident.

Enquiries have been ongoing in order to try and identify the vehicle and driver involved, but officers are now turning to the public for assistance.
