Pedestrian dies in collision with motorbike on Isle of Wight

A pedestrian has died following a collision in Newport, in which a motorcyclist was also seriously injured.

Police were called to reports of a collision on Horsebridge Hill, near to the junction with Noke Common, at around 5.49am this morning (Thursday 19th).

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was confirmed deceased at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified by police.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, is being treated in hospital for injuries not described as life-threatening.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police has issued an appeal to find anyone who witnessed this collision, in particular those with relevant dash cam, doorbell, or CCTV footage.
