One person has been taken to hospital - following a reported car meet over the weekend.

We're told there was a large crash at the event in Bournemouth, with emergency services - including the air ambulance - rushed to the scene.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 19:48hrs on Sunday 20 April to an incident in Bournemouth.

"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and a critical care car to the scene.

"We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital.”

Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 6.46pm on Sunday 20 April 2025 of a large gathering of vehicles at Hengistbury Head car park in Bournemouth.

"We received reports of anti-social driving involving some of those vehicles that were present.

"A section 35 dispersal order was put in place, which meant that officers were able to issue anyone seen acting in an anti-social manner or posing a risk to other road users with a dispersal notice, requiring them to leave the area.

"At around 7.45pm, it is reported that a collision occurred involving a motorbike and a BMW car. The motorbike rider – a man aged in his 20s from Oxfordshire – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Road closures were put in place while enquiries were carried out at the scene. An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

"The gathering of vehicles had dispersed from the car park by approximately 9pm.

"We fully recognise that incidents such as this can cause concern and disruption to local residents, and we will continue to respond promptly to reports of this nature to reduce any impact on the local community.

"We are working with our partner agencies to identify longer-term solutions to prevent anti-social behaviour at the location."
