Dorchester man arrested after Verwood 'industrial incident'

A man from Dorchester's been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, following an 'industrial incident' in Verwood.

Dorset Police were called just before 9.00am yesterday morning (Tuesday 3rd January) to Coopers Lane.

A man in his 30s had died during an incident while a vehicle was being unloaded there.

Police tell us they've been working with the Health and Safety Executive to investigate the circumstances, and a vehicle's been taken away for examination.

A man in his 40s, from Dorchester, who was arrested has since been released under investigation.

Dorset Police said in a statement:

"Our thoughts remain with the family of the man who sadly died, and they are being supported by dedicated liaison officers."
