Penny Mordaunt, who represents the constituency of Portsmouth North, has posted a slick video on Twitter - adding "our leadership has to change".

The 49-year-old, who supported Brexit, joins fellow Brexiteer Suella Braverman.

The MP for Fareham has been setting out her pitch in an article in the Daily Express.

She's written: "I'll be straight with you, we have a real fight on our hands.

"The Conservative Party needs to unite around a candidate who can deliver what we set out to in the 2019 manifesto that sent me and so many of my colleagues to Westminster.

"I can be that person. I’m not offering easy solutions. I won’t promise everything to everyone.

"But I will offer a firm vision and rapid, relentless decision-making in order to get us through this crisis".
