Masked men carrying baseball bats attack man on Hayling Island
They stole his car, wallet and wedding ring
A man's been knocked unconscious after being attacked by a group of masked men with a baseball bat on Hayling Island.
Police say they received a report at around 4:50pm on Monday 10 November, a man had been in a car park on Station Road when he was approached by a group of men wearing masks.
The man was hit several times with a baseball bat and lost consciousness.
The group then stole his car, wallet and wedding ring, described as white gold and engraved with the words ‘I love you’.
Police attended and located the man, who was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
The stolen car was later located in Uplands Road in Drayton.
An investigation has been launched and officers are carrying out enquiries to locate the outstanding stolen items and to identify those involved.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may recognise the following description of one of the men involved:
White
Aged in his late 30s – early 40s
Approximately 5ft 10 inches tall
Short, stubbly facial hair and a beard
Wearing a black tracksuit with a red shirt underneath
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said:
"We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the stolen car in the Drayton area. The car is described as a black Ford Ranger Wildtrak with the registration starting WL72.
"If you witnessed this incident, or have any information (including CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the area) which could help us in identifying the men involved or locating the stolen items, please report this to us."
