Man stabbed in leg during assault in Southampton

He was knocked to the ground by a car before four men got out and attacked him

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the leg during a serious assault in Southampton.

Officers received reports of a collision involving a car and a man in his 30s on Inkerman Road, at the junction with Oak Road in Woolston, at around 12.45am on Monday 17 March.

The man was knocked to the ground before four men exited the vehicle and assaulted him. The victim was stabbed in the leg and suffered serious leg injuries which required hospital treatment.

Description

The men who were in the vehicle are described as being white, of average height and in their late teens / early 20s. It is believed they may have been in a dark coloured Ford Fiesta-type car.

Since this was reported, officers have been carrying out various enquiries and are now appealing for witnesses.
