Man dies following car park collision in Gosport

A man has died after being run over in a supermarket car park in Gosport on Saturday.

Hampshire Police were called at around 5:45pm to reports that a blue Volkswagen Passat had collided with a pedestrian.

A 69-year-old man sadly died at the scene after members of the public helped him out from beneath the car. His family have been informed.

The incident occurred in the car park of the Asda supermarket in Dock Road which was subsequently closed yesterday evening while police conducted their investigation. It has now re-opened.

The police are appealing for witnesses and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the moments leading up to the collision, in particular anyone who has any dash cam or other footage.
