Man charged with murder after discovery of woman's body

A man has been charged with murder after the body of a woman in her 60s was found in a house in Southampton.

The body was discovered in the property in Mansel Road East, Millbrook at 8.35pm on Monday.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.

Richard Shaw, 48, of Derby Road, Southampton, has been charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

A 38-year-old woman who was also arrested has been released with no further action.
