Man charged following Bournemouth rape allegation

A man's been charged with rape, following an incident in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police were called out at around 7.20am on Friday (7th July) to the area of East Overcliff Drive, to reports that a woman had been sexually assaulted.

Investigations led to a 30 year old man being arrested yesterday (Sunday 9th July).

He's since been charged with rape, intentional strangulation and assault occasioning ABH and is due to appear being Poole Magistrates today (Monday 10th July).

Specially-trained officers are continuing to support the victim, who's being kept up to date with the investigation.

There's also a continuing increased policing presence in the area, with officers able to be approached by members of the public, to pass on information or raise concerns.
