Man appears in court after alleged stabbing by Bournemouth Pier

Police said a man in his 20s was attacked near the Lower Gardens by Bournemouth Pier on the 26th of August at around 6:20pm

A man has appeared in court after an alleged assault in Bournemouth.

At 6.20pm on Monday 26 August 2024, Dorset Police received a report from the ambulance service that a man had been stabbed in the Lower Gardens near Bournemouth Pier.

Police said officers and the ambulance service attended and the victim, a local man in his twenties, was taken to hospital with an injury that was not life-threatening.

An 18-year-old man from East Dorset who was arrested in connection with the incident was issued a postal requisition to appear at court for offences of wounding with intent and possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place.

He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 23 October 2025.

A 17-year-old boy from Bournemouth who was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent was subsequently released without charge.
