A coastguard helicopter has airlifted a man from a beach in Dorset after reports he fell 15ft from a cliff onto rocks.

Paramedics and rescue teams were called to Blacknor Point on Portland on Tuesday afternoon.

Due to the man's suspected head injury and the location, it was decided that an evacuation by helicopter would be the best option.

Wyke Coastguard Rescue Team said the coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-Solent airlifted him to a waiting ambulance and he was taken to hospital.
