Smoke alarm "undoubtedly saved lives" in Poole housefire
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service say two people escaped safely on Saturday evening
The lives of two people - whose home was engulfed by fire on Saturday evening - were "undoubtedly saved" by working smoke alarms.
That's the claim today from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service following the blaze at Poole.
Emergency crews were called to Allenby Road at around 11.44pm with firefighters from Poole, Hamworthy and Westbourne attending.
They found a fire on the first floor of the property which was successfully extinguished.
