Investigation launched after 11-year-old boy 'grabbed' in Bognor

Police are investigating reports a young boy was 'grabbed by the wrist' by a stranger while walking in Bognor.

Officers were called to reports that the 11-year-old had been approached by two men in a car in Frith Road, at 1.15pm on Tuesday.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said:

"The men approached him in a silver vehicle similar to a Vauxhall Zafira, which is also described as having a damaged wing mirror.

"The passenger is believed to have grabbed the boy by the wrist but he broke free and ran home."

Police said they are treating the incident as suspicious and enquiries are being made to identify the vehicle and occupants.

Extra police have been sent to the area and enquiries are being made to establish exactly what happened.

Sussex Police said there is no indication to suggest the incident is linked with any others in the area.
