Hampshire Police refers itself to watchdog over Portsmouth crash
A pedestrian was struck by an unmarked police vehicle on Tuesday (January 7th)
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police has referred itself to the police watchdog after a collision involving an unmarked police car and a pedestrian in Portsmouth.
A man in his 30s suffered a serious hip injury in the collision on Eastern Road at around 11.50pm on Tuesday (January 7th).
It happened opposite the Shell petrol station, near the junction with Walton Road, and involved a grey Volvo vehicle.
The force said it passed on details to the IOPC as standard procedure.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision. In particular there were a white van and black car in the area at the time, the occupants of which may have information which could assist our investigation.
