Fog warning issued across the South Coast
It could cause problems on the roads
All of South East England has been issued with a fog alert for the drive to work on Monday morning (December 7th).
Thick fog is expected by the Met Office, who've issued a yellow warning through until 11am.
Visibility is expected to drop to less than 100 metres in some areas, and drivers are being urged to take extra care on the roads.
The warning covers Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, West Sussex, Dorset and much of England - reaching as far north as Hull and as far west as Bath.
What are the Met Office saying?
"Fog and freezing fog will affect a large part of England on Monday morning.
"The visibility will drop to less than 100 m in places, and with the increased traffic volumes, some transport disruption is possible.
"The fog will slowly lift during the day but will persist in a few places."
What's in the forecast for the South Coast?
Monday:
A cold and frosty start, with some freezing fog patches in places, slow to clear or even persisting in places, particularly in the far east. Otherwise, largely dry with sunny spells, with the odd coastal shower in the south. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Monday night:
Areas of fog or freezing fog will steadily develop and become widespread later in the night, particularly in the west. Cloudier and somewhat less cold in East Sussex and Kent. Minimum temperature -3 °C.
Tuesday:
Any early fog and cloud will slowly clear, giving way to sunny spells for most. However, fog is likely to return in East Sussex and Kent later. Rather cold. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
