A fire at a block of flats in Bognor Regis, which left several people needing medical treatment, is being treated as suspected arson with intent to endanger life.

Crews were called to Northcliffe Road at 4.35am this morning, February 2, where at least four homes were affected.

Eleven people, including children, were handed over to paramedics as a precaution.

Three dogs and a rabbit were also rescued from the building.

The fire has now been put out but firefighters said they are likely to remain at the scene today.

Sussex Police said an investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.

Forensics investigators have been deployed to the scene and officers are continuing to conduct house-to-house enquiries at this time.
