Elderly woman hit by car in Fordingbridge suffers serious injuries

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened

A 91-year-old woman has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car in Fordingbridge.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary say it happened between 2.25- 2.35pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 8 December) on Fordingbridge High Street outside Belindas Bakery and Coffee House

It is thought to have involved a light coloured 4x4 vehicle.

The pensioner from Salisbury was taken to hospital where she remains

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have seen a 4x4 vehicle being driven around this area around this time.

They would also like to hear from anyone who saw an elderly pedestrian walking prior to the incident and of course anyone who may have dash-cam footage to aid their investigation.

The road was not closed by police, but ambulance were at the scene until around 4pm.
