Elderly woman in Portsmouth conned out of £3,000 for roof repairs

An elderly woman from Portsmouth has been conned out of thousands of pounds by men claiming she needed work on her roof.

The cold callers, carried out minimal work and falsely told her she could claim the money back on her insurance.

She paid them £3,000.

Police have now issued images of several men they'd like to identify.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said:

"We are keen to hear from anyone who can identify the men pictured, or who has any information that could assist our investigation.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44250431025."
