Elderly woman suffers life-threatening injuries in Bournemouth crash

A woman in her 80s from Christchurch has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash in Bournemouth.

Two cars collided on Christchurch Road, at the junction with Crabton Close Road in Boscombe, at around 3.50pm on New Year's Day (Sunday 1st January).

A red Ford Focus and a black Honda Civic were involved.

A 36-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and released under investigation.

PC Mark Palmer, of the Dorset Police traffic unit, said:

“I am appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of either vehicle leading up to the collision.

“In addition, I would urge any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
