An e-scooter trial in Southampton and Portsmouth has been extended until March 2022.
Operator Voi said they had been used for almost 450,000 rides since the scheme was launched in March, covering over 1.4 million kilometres.
The extension of the trials will allow transport bosses to collect more data on their use and the impact as a public transport option.
Voi would not reveal exact figures on the number of reported accidents involving the e-scooters.
Accident data released by the operator showed 0.06 per cent of rides in Southampton and 0.07 per cent of rides in Portsmouth ended in "any type of incident".
Voi said it took anti-social behaviour seriously
The e-scooters have replaced nearly 200,000 short car journeys and saved an estimated 120 tonnes of CO2 during the trial, transport bosses said.
Cllr Lynne Stagg from Portsmouth City Council said: "Rental e-scooters are giving people options beyond using a private car, public transport, or walking, with the overwhelming majority of people using them safely and responsibly, so they're a welcome addition to our city. "
