Havant locals looking to give back to their community, meet new people, or gain valuable volunteering experience are invited to attend a special event.

Community First is bringing together 28 local organisations for the Havant Volunteer Fair at The Pallant Centre this afternoon. (3 April)

From 2:30pm until 5:15pm, visitors can drop in to chat with local groups and find a role that suits their interests, whether its supporting older people, working with children, helping those with disabilities, caring for animals, or even getting involved in a music festival.

Attending organisations include Barnardo’s, Hounds for Heroes, Stop Domestic Abuse, Havant Borough Talking Newspaper, The Wave Festival, and Waterlooville and Havant Good Neighbours, among many others.

Tim Houghton, Chief Executive of Community First, said: “Volunteering isn’t just about giving your time – it’s about gaining something valuable in return. It connects you with your community, introduces you to new friends, and can even improve your mental health. Whether you have an hour a week or more to spare, there’s a role out there that suits everyone.

“We look forward to seeing the fair buzzing with community spirit and people learning about where they could make a difference.”

No booking is needed – just turn up on the day. Tickets can also be reserved via Eventbrite.
