Police in Bournemouth have hit out thieves who've stolen a community defibrillator, describing it as 'utterly unnecessary and reckless'.

Officers say at 8pm, a group of teenagers are reported to have stolen an orange defibrillator from the car park of St Mark’s C.E. Primary School in Talbot Rise, Talbot Village.

Police Constable Georgia Kemp, of Bournemouth police, said: “Not only did this defibrillator cost over £900, but it has been bought and placed in a community car park so it can be used to save people’s lives.

“This theft was utterly unnecessary and reckless, and I would like to reassure the community that a full investigation is underway.

“I would urge anyone with information as to who was responsible to please contact Dorset Police.”
