Charge after Portsmouth stabbing

Two men were left with head and facial injuries on Friday afternoon

A man has been charged following reports of a stabbing in Portsmouth.

Hampshire Police officers were called to Tangier Road at around 3.35pm on Friday 7 November.

Two men, age 39 and 46, suffered face and head injuries.

James Wallis, 39, of Milton Road in Portsmouth has been charged with wounding with intent, possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in public, possessing an offensive weapon in public and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

He has been remanded into custody to appear on Monday 10 November at Portsmouth Magistrates Court.

A 44-year-old woman from Portsmouth who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been conditionally bailed until 7 February whilst enquiries continue.

A 46-year-old man from Portsmouth who was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place has been released with no further action.
