Dorset Police are investigating after an ambulance service response vehicle was involved in a collision with a car, leaving both drivers needing treatment.

Officers have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Police received a report at 6.16pm on Wednesday of a collision involving an ambulance service rapid response vehicle, which was responding to an emergency, and a grey Ford Fiesta on Herbert Avenue near to the Rossmore Leisure Centre.

Emergency services responded and the drivers of both vehicles were treated at the scene, but did not require hospital treatment.

Police Constable Chris Brolan, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved in the moments leading up to it.

"I would also like to speak to anyone who was driving along the road at the time with dashcam footage.”
