A bus route through Poole has been scrapped after what’s been described as ‘continued and dangerous attacks’.

Groups have thrown rocks through bus windows.

Morebus won’t be running services through Herbert Avenue and Arne Avenue after 8pm until further notice.

The company’s apologised but says it cannot continue to put drivers and passengers in danger.

Mike Freeborn, Morebus operations manager, said: "We have reached the difficult decision that, until further notice, we will be unable to serve Herbert avenue and Arne Avenue after 8pm due to the continued, dangerous, attacks being on our vehicles by a small minority of youths.

"This is not a decision we have taken lightly, and we sincerely regret the inconvenience this will cause to those who travel regularly with us and are simply trying to get on with their daily business, but we cannot continue to put our drivers or these valued customers in danger.

"We will keep this under review and aim to return when we feel it is appropriate to do so.”
