A 26-year-old man has died after a crash near Winchester.

It happened early this morning on the northbound carriageway of the A34.

In a statement, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: "We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal collision on the A34.

"Police were called at 5.30am this morning (13 December) by the ambulance service to a report of a collision on the northbound carriageway just past Winchester bypass.

"This involved a white Yamaha motorcycle and sadly its rider, a 26-year-old man from Winchester, died at the scene.

"Were you driving in this area at the time? Did you see the collision or a motorcyclist on a white bike?

"Anyone with information or relevant dash cam footage should call 101 or report online via our website, quoting reference number 44230507752."
