Arrest after 77-year-old pedestrian killed in Lymington crash

A 77-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Lymington.

Emergency services were called to the collision in Milford Road, which involved a blue Vauxhall Meriva, at 1.54pm on Tuesday (August 27th).

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Hampshire Police said her family have been informed and will be supported by officers.

Officers have arrested a 60-year-old woman from Lymington on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She remained in custody as of Tuesday evening.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said:

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have been passing through the area around 1:50pm this afternoon and saw what happened or the moments leading up to it.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage which could help us with our investigation."
