After trouble in parts of Portsmouth this summer, the city is getting a share of Home Office funding to tackle anti-social behaviour.

ÂŁ15,000 will go towards community groups to provide activities and a place for teenagers to go.

The focus is on Old Portsmouth, Camber Dock and the hotwalls.

Police Sergeant Rich Reagan said: "We spend much of our time, particularly over the summer months, listening to the community’s concerns regarding anti-social behaviour.

"While we police these areas as best we can, anti-social behaviour cannot be solved by one organisation alone.

"We have always worked closely with partner agencies, community groups and residents across the city and have worked hard to secure this funding so that they can have a say in how the money is spent."

Any group or individual is able to apply for up to ÂŁ2,500 if they have a project or idea for their community in mind.

All projects must benefit the Old Portsmouth, Camber Dock and Hot Walls area and applications need to be submitted by October 30.
