AFC Bournemouth, and Black Knight Football Club, have signed a 'binding contract' to acquire the Vitality Stadium.

It's been described as an 'important next step as the club continues its growth on and off the pitch'.

A newly created entity, Black Knight Stadium Limited, will officially own the stadium, which AFC Bournemouth has called home since 1910.

Owner and General Partner, Bill Foley, said:

“This acquisition is a strategic and logical step as we pursue AFC Bournemouth’s and Black Knight Football Club’s continued ambitions.

“We have acknowledged that accommodating more of our growing fanbase is integral to our goals for the club, and this move will allow us to pursue all options moving forward. We appreciate Structadene’s stewardship of the stadium and for working with us to return it to its natural home with the club.”

The stadium acquisition closely follows the launch of the club’s new Performance Centre at Canford Magna last month.

The club also say ownership of the stadium will help AFC Bournemouth make plans for any future renovation and expansion projects.

With a capacity of 11,286, Vitality Stadium is the smallest of the current Premier League home venues.
