87-year-old pedestrian seriously injured by car in Southampton

Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an 87-year-old woman was seriously injured by a vehicle in Southampton on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 1.15pm on Rownhams Road in the Maybush area of Southampton, outside a row of shops.
It was reported a green Dacia Jogger car had collided with an 87-year-old female pedestrian, who suffered serious injuries.
The woman, who is from Southampton, remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Police are investigating the exact details of the collision and a 35-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
