YTFC praise fans for 'special' day during Match for Marcus fixture
"Thank you for making the day so special"
The Executive Chairman of Yeovil Town is giving a big thanks to fans after their Match for Marcus fixture.
All profits from the club's home friendly with Bristol Rovers on Saturday (20/7) are going to Marcus Stewart, in support of his ongoing battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
Stuart Robins says the game at the weekend was a "powerful show of unity" - and that they hope to reveal the fundraising total in the coming days.
In a statement, Stuart Robins added: "This was far more than just a pre-season friendly – it was a powerful show of unity and support for Marcus Stewart, a man who has given so much to both of our clubs through his outstanding career as a player and coach. The atmosphere at Huish Park was a testament to the respect and affection held for Marcus across the football community.
"To the Bristol Rovers supporters – thank you for making the journey and standing with us in support of Marcus and his ongoing fight against motor neurone disease. Your presence meant a great deal.
"To our incredible Yeovil supporters – your generosity, warmth, and spirit once again made us proud.
"Together, we raised awareness, showed our support for Marcus and his family, and contributed to a cause that matters deeply to us all. We hope to bring you a fundraising total in the coming days and look forward to sharing the positive impact your support has made.
"Thank you for making the day so special."
