Takeover of Yeovil Town FC complete as club announces new shareholders
Inflection Holdings has bought a majority of shares in the club
Yeovil Town FC have confirmed that a takeover of the club's business has been completed.
The team - which competes in the National League - had been struggling to find a suitable owner after The Hellier Trading Group revealed they could not maintain the club.
However, the club announced on Thursday (May 29th) that the club was to undergo a change in ownership.
Now, Inflection Holdings - the family office of Mr Prabhu Srinivasan, has bought all remaining shares from The Hellier Trading Group, thereby making it the majority shareholder in the club.
Describing the takeover as "a significant milestone in the club’s history", Yeovil Town said that the investment being brought into the club will provide it with a sustainable future roadmap.
As a result of the takeover, Srinivasan now takes on the role of Owner and Chairman, alongside his wife and family - who have also committed to developing the club further.
Speaking on his decision to invest int the club, Srinivasan said that he has been thrilled to see the motivation from fans, as it helped inspired him to make his decision.
"Investing in Yeovil Town Football Club is a moment of immense pride for us," the new owner said.
"This club’s rich history and potential inspired us, and we are committed to being a responsible steward as we embark on an exciting new journey together. We are focused on making a positive impact on players, fans, employees and the entire community."
Mr Srinivasan was at Yeovil Town's match against Sutton, which saw the team lose; however, he admired the passion the fans have for the club.
"Despite the result, I witnessed the fans’ outstanding passion," he explained. In the middle of the game, I moved to the Thatcher’s Stand to be amongst the fans.
"I really appreciate and respect the terrific support the team enjoys from its wonderfully loyal fanbase, and I am looking forward to meeting them in the coming weeks! I am excited and proud to lead our unique club into a bright, new, stable future."
