Woman, in her 70s, dies after collision in Burnham-on-Sea

Police are now asking for witnesses to come forward

A woman in her 70s has died following a collision in Burnham-on-Sea.

Emergency services were called to Berrow Road at 7.19pm on Thursday 22nd January, after reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car.

Despite their best efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin has been informed and is receiving support from a specially trained family liaison officer.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Following the collision, Berrow Road was closed for several hours while emergency services and officers carried out initial investigations.

The road has since reopened.

Police are now asking for witnesses to come forward, including anyone with relevant dashcam footage who has not yet spoken to an officer.
