Witness appeal after pedestrian dies in Street

Avon and Somerset Police closed Green Lane Avenue earlier today - and the driver of a van has been arrested

Avon and Somerset Police have launched a witness appeal after a pedestrian died in a collision in Street.

They say the incident happened at about 17:20 today (Thursday, March 16) in Green Lane Avenue.

The force closed the road to conduct an investigation into what happened in the collision.

A blue Transit van was also involved in the collision killing the pedestrian, who is yet to be formally identified.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specialist family liaison officer.

The driver of the van - a man in his 20s - has been arrested and was taken into police custody.
