Avon and Somerset Police have threatened to arrest staff at Weetabix after the company shared a hugely controversial post on Twitter.

Earlier today (09/02) the firm shared a photo of baked beans on top of the classic cereal, along with the comments "why should bread have all the fun" and "breakfast with a twist".

It's drawn a huge response on the social media platform and the Avon and Somerset force clearly consider it a crime against cereal.

"We will be along with the cuffs shortly," their Bath and North East Somerset account has tweeted in response.

Several other companies and groups have also responded, including Lidl who asked "babe are you ok?" and our heroes at the NHS, who have suggested the tweet should come with a health warning.

Specsaves have added "removes glasses, puts on blindfold", while Domino's Pizza have said, "us: Pineapple on pizza is the most controversial food ever.

"Weetabix: Hold my spoon."

At time of writing the original post has been shared more than 10,000 times.

It is so far unclear how many arrests are likely to be made.
